2. The Memory Alchemist

“The Memory Alchemist,” is a science fantasy fiction movie set in 2050, it follows our protagonist, John, a disillusioned scientist haunted by personal tragedies. He rediscovers a pill, T-Nexus, that contains the power to travel and alter his emotions from the past. Wanting to seek solace for his younger self, he consumes the pill, embarking on a journey back to 2035.

In my portfolio, I delve into the detailed process of conceptualising, developing, and planning the story of "The Memory Alchemist." This portfolio offers a behind-the-scenes look into the creative decisions and the overall artistic vision that I would like to implement if given an opportunity to bring this film to life. This includes character stories, plot development and building and visual conceptions.

"The Memory Alchemist" is a sci-fi film synopsis project that explores the connections between themes such as time and mental health. The narrative unfolds through the lens of John, a disillusioned scientist burdened by personal tragedies, who rediscovers a mysterious pill named T-Nexus.

Set in the timelines of 2035 and 2050, the story follows John's journey as he takes the T-Nexus to alter his past. The pill which was initially designed to bring immediate but temporary happiness by allowing users an option to travel back in time, unveils unforeseen capabilities other than time travel.

As John's life transforms for the better, the film delves into the moral implications of mental health exploitation as Dr. Langley, a power-hungry mad scientist and former colleague of John, recognizes T-Nexus's potential and conceals its capabilities to exploit it for profit.

"The Memory Alchemist" serves as a tale addressing the importance in having a balance between technological advancement and ethical responsibility.

Mood board

Contains visual concepts and colour palettes that I feel is essential to bring out the vibes and emotions of the plot.

Colour Palette

When I think of time travelling dark blue and green tones first come to mind. Dark blue tones help to invoke a sense of mystery, it is also usually associated with space and realms. Green is normally associated with villainy and corruption. Grey along side dark blue tones are used to show disillusionment. Whereas gold tones help to signify hope and knowledge.
